Clayton Road Improvement Project

News & Information

New! 09.08.00 Editorial in the West News Magazine dated September 6, on page 5, mostly about 109, but finally a sane comment on the relative merits of roundabouts in general. The title of the editorial is "Dumb and Dumber".

08.28.00 Article in the West County Journal regarding a roundabout plan for highway 109?!? Steve Clark is the MoDOT official quoted in this article, which just happened to be written by our good buddy Mary Shapiro. The article is on page A3 of the Sunday, August 27th edition. The Clayton Road project is mentioned as if it is a done deal in the last paragraph.

08.22.00 Article in the West News Magazine, dated 08.13.00, on page 21. In the same magazine, there is a comment on the roundabout located at Highcroft & Country Rigde, saying that they are taking that one out. It seems that it is ineffective, and causes more congestion than they had before, because of all of the confusion. The comment is on page 8, and there is a picture of the roundabout on page 9. The blurb on page 8 is under the Chesterfield section, under the heading "The Calm Is Over".
