This is a picture of my hub, a Netgear DS108. Hubs are dumb, they require no programming or setup. They are little more than what ties the cabling together. Mine is an 8 port auto-sensing 10/100 mbit. What that means is that the hub will detect the speed of the device attached and run at the appropriate speed. I found it necessary to get this hub because my old hub would run at 10 or 100, but every port had to be either 10 or 100. All of my computers have 10/100 cards, but my router only ran at 10, so I had to run my entire LAN at 10 until I got this hub.
